The Nunzie Cottage
The Nunzie Cottage is a luxury rental home located on Mt Kineo Island, situated approximately 4,000 feet across from the town landing of Rockwood, Maine on Moosehead Lake, Maine. The home has views of Mt. Kineo, Kineo Cove, and the Golf Course, and is located on the 2 nd Hole of the Mount Kineo Golf Course. Mt. Kineo is an island, connected by a thin strip of land (a manmade Ismuth) to timberlands located on the mainland east of the island.. There are 33 summer homes and a golf course on Kineo Island, and 2/3 rd of the island’s 1150 acres is State Park, known as Mount Kineo State Park (see https://maine.gov/mountkineo). The cottage is a comfortable 3,800 square foot home with a 16ft tall slate fireplace in the living room. Kineo Island is a perfect place for hiking, boating, golf, enjoying nature, and relaxing in the sun at pebble beach minutes from the front door.
The Space

The cottage consists of 4 bedrooms and three and a half baths, and comes with a private dock located close to the house in Kineo Cove. The large kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals for a full complement of guests, consisting of a five- burner gas cooktop, large double oven, grill and toaster, Subzero fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and attached breakfast nook off the kitchen. A separate laundry room is next to the kitchen. The large dining room has great views of Mt. Kineo and the 2 nd hole greenway of the golf course.
Golf carts are available for rent on the island. Please inquire with the Owner. The home has wi-fi and there is a smart TV with Netflix, and other internet programming. The Golf Club also offers free wi-fi, and serves snacks and lunch. The Birches resort with bar and restaurant is located a short 10 minute boat ride from Kineo.

Things to Note
Kineo Island is accessible only by boat or public boat shuttle provided by the golf course. It is a perfect place to bring your own boat. A private dock comes with the house. The Kineo Golf Course shuttle runs between Memorial Day and Columbus Day all season long and we will be happy to provide you with their schedule as well. You can rent a golf cart from locals Butch and Nancy Billing. If you would like their number let us know.
Trash is bring-in/bring-out. There is a town dump in Rockwood, open Sunday, Monday and Thursday from 8am to 4 pm. There are instructions at the house taped on the refrigerator.
